Mason City has a new neighbor. Dohrn Transfer Company based in Rock Island, IL, is opening the previously owned H&W terminal on February 1. This expansion has created an initial 10 jobs with potential for another 3-5 in the remaining year. The 10 new employees are all from Mason City and surrounding areas and include 8 drivers, an Operations Manager and a Terminal Manager.

"We were impressed with the caliber of people in Mason City. We had an excellent pool of applications to choose from," claims Gary Dohrn, President.

Dohrn Transfer Company is a regional less than truckload and truckload company based in the Quad Cities with branches in Sioux City, Spencer and Des Moines, Iowa; Rock Island, Freeport, Litchfield and Rock Falls, Illinois; and Omaha, Nebraska. This recent expansion by Dohrn Transfer will improve service to their existing direct service area. Dohrn states, "Mason City will allow us to better serve our customers in North Central and Eastern Iowa along with Southern Minnesota including the Twin City area." Dohrn offers next-day service for the entire states of Iowa and Illinois and partial states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota.
